Well for you germaphobes, a new device makes it easy to clean and eradicate germs from a Smartphone. It's the germ killing Smartphone Sanitizer which employs the same ultra-violet technology that is used to sanitize hospital equipment and instruments which safely get rid of 99.9 percent of germs.

The Smartphone Sanitizer uses two bulbs inside a case that discharge germ-killing light to kill disease-causing viruses and bacteria that cause illnesses like salmonella, H1N1, E coli, and streptococcus among others. It does all of this in a short five minutes.

To kill germs on a Smartphone, the ultra-violet light gets into the nooks and niches of the keypad apart from the outer surface alone. The sanitizer can hold iPods and non flip phones that are no larger than 4 3/4 inches in height, 3/4 inches in width and 3 1/2 inches in length. It starts to work as soon as the lid is put on in five-minute cycle. The lights can run for up to 8,000 hours.
